Our Kindy Program
In our daily practice, the focus is on children as co-creators of the curriculum, co-owners and co-decision makers. Guided by our service philosophy, the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG), the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), The National Quality Framework and key early childhood theorists, we create rich opportunities for meaningful play and learning throughout each day. We see everyday teaching as an opportunity to acknowledge the child now. By making time to listen, build relationships, and create genuine connections, we foster a strong sense of belonging, wellbeing and confidence that supports lifelong learning.
Accessing Our Wider Community
Throughout the year class groups may have the opportunity to walk outside the Kindy gates. Our staff teams take great consideration in when and how each individual group will access our local community.
Over the years, previous groups have enjoyed visits to local businesses along Blackwood Street, including the bakery, veterinary clinic, post office and restaurants, as well as spending time in our much-loved Bush Park. These experiences help children build connections with their community while extending their learning beyond the kindergarten environment.
